How to understand Graphic Card Model Numbers?

Both nVidia and ATi/AMD cards mention both the Generation and the target performance segments in their model number. Nvidia uses 3 digits, while AMD uses 4 digits currently.

For nVidia
------------
First number is generation, last 2 numbers give performance segment.

Eg, Geforce 610 = 6th Generation, 10 = Lowest performance card in this generation.
Geforce 630 = 6th Gen, 30 = Low Medium performance
Geforce 650 = 6th Gen, 50 =Upper Medium performance
Geforce 660 = 6th gen, 60 = High performance, and similarly
690 = Extremely high end card of 6th generation.

The nightmare for Gamers:Heating problem in PC's

There is a very popular or well known problem in notebook PC's and it is also very popular among desktop users guess what u r right,I am talking about the heating problem.Heat buildup can cause problems for any computer. Generally, when temperatures inside the case rise above 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit), the risk of damaging important internal components increases greatly. The most common cause of overheating is the accumulation of dust inside the computer. The electrical components in a computer generate heat and fans inside the computer help move the air to keep the components cooled to normal operating temperatures. Inadequate cooling can cause excess heat to build up inside the case which can damage components. The sound of the fan running all the time may indicate that the computer is not running as efficiently as possible and that there is a problem with accumulated dust clogging the air vents.

Computer running slowly

Make sure your computer has at least 500MB of free hard drive space. If your computer has less than 500MB free, it may cause the computer to operate more slowly. Try regaining hard drive space.
Run Microsoft Scandisk and Defrag on the computer. Additional information and help with these commands can be found on the scandisk page and the defrag page on the microsoft website.
Close any programs that are running in the background or disable background programs from automatically loading each time your computer boots. Information about doing this can be found in document CHTSR.
Click Start, Search, and click For Files or Folders. In the search window, search for files named *.tmp and make sure you are searching or looking in the local C: drive.  Once search has completed, delete any files found.
Ensure that no errors or conflicts exist in the Device Manager.
Make sure Windows XP is up-to-date by checking Microsoft Windows update page.
Delete all files in your Windows Prefetch directory. These files can lower overall system resources if loading programs no longer being used. See the prefetch definition for additional information about prefetch.
Verify your computer has the latest drivers for the hardware devices installed in your computer.
If your computer has a virus protection program installed, make sure it is up to date and that no viruses are being detected. If your computer does not have a virus protection program, you may want to consider installing a program to make sure no viruses are causing your problems.
If your computer has worked fine in the past but recently has been experiencing this issue, run the System Restore option to restore the computer to an earlier date.

how to fix the error :empty disk

Step 1: Check if the drive is in Device Manager
If nothing happens in Windows when a disc is inserted into the drive, the drive might not be detected in Windows. Use these steps to see if the CD/DVD drive is recognized in Device Manager.

Click Start , and enter Device Manager into the Search field. Click Device Manager .
    Figure 1: Opening Device Manager

    Double-click DVD/CD-ROM drives .

If a name for a CD/DVD drive is not listed in Device Manager, the rest of these troubleshooting steps will not help. Instead refer to the HP support document CD or DVD Drive is not Detected (Windows 7) .
If the CD or DVD drive is listed, continue using these steps to troubleshoot problems related to disc.

Step 2: Make sure AutoPlay is set
If AutoPlay is set to take no action when discs are inserted or if AutoPlay is not enabled, nothing may happen when a disc is inserted. Even though you may want to open discs through Windows Explorer or other software means, use the following steps to make sure AutoPlay is enabled so that discs can be more easily tested in future steps:

Click Start , and then click Default Programs .
    Click Change AutoPlay settings .
    Figure 3: Default Programs
    Default Programs
Make sure Use AutoPlay for all media and devices is selected. If not, select it.

    AutoPlay settings
Select Ask me every time next to every CD and DVD item.
    Click Save when done.

Step 3: Check discs
Common causes for CD/DVD failures are damaged or poorly manufactured discs. Plastic discs can be easily scratched and data on the disc can be destroyed if left in the sun. Discs damaged by sun must be replaced. If a disc is scratched, try to clean or repair the disc. Most home electronic stores offer disc repair kits at minimal cost.
CAUTION: When using disc repair kits, allow extra drying time above that required by the manufacturer. If the liquid from the repair kit has not dried thoroughly, the liquid may come off of the disc when the disc spins up. This can damage the optics inside the drive and make matters much worse.
Use the following steps to help determine if discs or the drive need further attention:
